Pune: BJP, NCP Show Support For Removal Of Illegal Banners Across City

Pune, 20th January 2023: Members of the Pune Platform for Collaborative Response (PPCR) recently met with leaders of major political parties as part of the “no unlawful flex” campaign to demand an end to the widespread installation of banners and hoardings by leaders and candidates throughout the city.

The PPCR launched the #NoFlex campaign to lessen the quantity of erroneously erected hoardings and posters throughout the city. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders met with the PPCR representatives and offered their support.

A PPCR team met with Vandana Chavan, MP, Jagdish Mulik, the head of the BJP city unit, and Ankush Kakade, the spokesperson for the NCP, and formally presented them with the #NoFlex letter, which demands an immediate end to unauthorised flex banners and hoardings. The senior officials agreed with the PPCR’s request and gave them assurances of prompt action. All party members will soon get official directions requesting them to abstain from promoting #FlexBaazi and any other unlawful or harmful to the environment activities.

Both the BJP and NCP have endorsed the initiative and promised to cooperate to keep the city free of unauthorised flex banners and posters. Additionally, they have agreed to cooperate with PPCR to guarantee that any flex banners and posters are up in accordance with the legislation. Thousands of people, NGOs, resident welfare organisations, housing societies, and mohalla committees support the initiative.
