PM CARES Fund: Balance Rises To Rs 8,452 Crore, Data Released
New Delhi, 18th August 2026: The PM CARES Fund had a balance of ₹8,452.95 crore as of March 31, 2025, according to newly released data from the fund’s audit report.
The balance increased by around ₹1,279 crore in a year, rising from ₹7,188.63 crore at the end of the previous financial year. The figures were made public recently.
The PM CARES Fund was set up in March 2020 as a public charitable trust to provide assistance during emergencies and distress situations, including public health emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the audit report, the fund recorded total receipts of ₹8,452.95 crore during 2024-25. This was higher than the ₹7,188.63 crore recorded in the previous financial year.
The latest figures show that the fund continues to maintain a substantial financial reserve more than five years after it was established.
The PM CARES Fund can receive contributions from individuals and organisations, with donations eligible for tax benefits under Section 80G. Contributions can also qualify as corporate social responsibility expenditure under the Companies Act.
