Maharashtra Milk Prices To Rise By Rs 2 Per Litre From August 11

Pune, 8th August 2026: Milk prices in Maharashtra will increase by Rs 2 per litre from August 11, with the dairy industry attributing the hike to rising diesel prices and higher transportation costs.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Milk Producers and Processing Professionals Welfare Association, the apex body representing cooperative and private dairy operators in the state. The meeting was held at the Katraj Milk Union on Friday evening under the chairmanship of association president Gopalrao Mhaske.

Following the revision, the retail price of cow’s milk will increase from Rs 60 to Rs 62 per litre, while buffalo milk will cost Rs 78 per litre, up from Rs 76.
The association has also approved an increase of up to 10% in the prices of dairy products and by-products. The revised prices are expected to increase the cost of various dairy products for consumers from August 11.

Representatives of major cooperative and private dairy organisations from across Maharashtra attended the meeting. Katraj Dairy chairman Arun Chambhare was also present.

The meeting also discussed measures to curb the sale of analogue paneer. Dairy industry representatives expressed gratitude to MLA Vikram Pachpute for his support in efforts to ban analogue paneer.
