Maratha Reservation Activist Urges Swift Government Decision as Mumbai March Nears

Beed, 22nd January 2024: As the Maratha community’s reservation matter intensifies, activist Manoj Jarange-Patil emphasized the urgency for the Maharashtra State Government to decide before the community members reach Mumbai on January 26. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde responded by urging protesters to adopt a positive approach, expressing hope that the Maratha community would receive the long-awaited reservation.

On the second day of his march to Mumbai, Jarange-Patil, a prominent reservation activist, conveyed a message in Beed district, urging the Maharashtra Government to decide on the Maratha quota matter. He cautioned against the use of arrogant language and asserted the community’s right to reach Mumbai. Jarange-Patil framed the march as the “final battle” in their quest for reservation.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde responded to the activist’s concerns, assuring that the government is committed to presenting a strong case in favour of the Maratha reservation. He emphasized the government’s dedication to providing reservations that align with legal standards and can withstand scrutiny in the courts.
