Maharashtra Government Withdraws Mandatory Hindi Decision; MNS Celebrates Victory in Pimpri-Chinchwad
Pimpri-Chinchwad, 30th June 2025: The Maharashtra government has officially withdrawn its decision to impose Hindi as a mandatory third language in primary school education. This announcement has been met with widespread public satisfaction across the state. To mark this historic decision, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) organized a grand celebration at the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk in Pimpri.
Addressing the gathering, MNS Pimpri Chinchwad City President Sachin Chikhale emphasized the importance of Marathi language, quoting the saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s abhangs that praise Marathi’s value. He stated, “We will never allow Marathi to be sidelined by imposing Hindi as an alternative. The massive public support and growing opposition to the Hindi imposition, including the planned mega morcha on 5th June by the Thackeray brothers, compelled the Mahayuti Government to retract the decision. This is a great victory for Maharashtra’s linguistic identity and people’s power. Language should never be forced upon anyone. The coercion imposed on Maharashtra’s students has finally bowed before public strength. This triumph belongs to all of Maharashtra.”
In the evening, MNS workers celebrated with fireworks and distributed sweets like ladoos and pedhas near the memorial, creating an atmosphere of pride and enthusiasm. The event saw the presence of prominent MNS leaders and workers, including Seema Belapurkar, Bal Danawale, Manoj Landge, Rupesh Patekar, Datta Devtarase, Aditi Chavaria, Vaishali Nizampurkar, Vaishnavi Pandit, Vidya Kulkarni, and many others.
The celebration underscored the strong public sentiment against the forced imposition of Hindi and highlighted the MNS’s role in safeguarding Maharashtra’s linguistic heritage.
