KCR Returns to Telangana Assembly After Six Months, Leads Opposition Charge
Hyderabad, 12th March 2025: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and former Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) made his return to the state assembly on Wednesday after a six-month absence.
KCR last attended the assembly on July 25 of the previous year, when he addressed the joint session of the legislative assembly and council, welcoming newly appointed Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma. Since then, he had largely remained at his farmhouse in Erravelli village, Siddipet district.
Now serving as the Leader of the Opposition, KCR took part in the ongoing budget session. Upon his arrival at the assembly gate, he was greeted by BRS MLAs, who escorted him inside. His return was viewed as a crucial moment for the party.
Inside the assembly, KCR convened a meeting with BRS legislators to outline the party’s strategy for the session. Sources indicated that he provided key directions and guidance on how to approach assembly proceedings.
According to reports, KCR criticized the Congress government, stating that it had 15 months to deliver on its promises but had fallen short. He reportedly noted that dissatisfaction was widespread and urged his party members to hold the ruling party accountable for the deteriorating situation.
He also laid out a strong plan to challenge Congress, focusing on key issues such as farmers’ concerns, power shortages, irrigation challenges, and unfulfilled commitments.
