Relief To Tejashwi Yadav With Warning In IRCTC Scam

Delhi, 18th October 2022: Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav has been advised by the Delhi court to speak thoughtfully. The court said this while delivering the verdict on the petition cancelling the bail of Tejashwi. At present, the court has not ordered the cancellation of bail. In such a situation, it is a matter of relief for Tejashwi. However, the court told him that he is holding a constitutional post and he should use the right words.

Tejashwi appeared in the Rouse Avenue CBI Special Court in Delhi on Tuesday in the IRCTC scam. During this, he opposed the CBI’s petition and demanded its rejection. However, the court said there is no ground to cancel the bail. Therefore, the application of CBI is not allowed. The court will issue a decision on this in detail.

Tejashwi said that he is in the opposition and he must question the wrongdoings of the government. The present government is misusing CBI and ED. All the opposition parties feel the same way. Tejashwi Yadav further said the CBI has made allegations of intimidation by him in the press conference. But that press conference was about some other issue. There was no mention of the IRCTC scam in it.

On the other hand, the central probe agency, in its plea, sought cancellation of his bail. The CBI had earlier alleged that the deputy CM was threatening him, he could influence the investigation. Tejashwi Yadav filed his reply in the court on Tuesday. His lawyer said that Tejashwi has not threatened the CBI in any way. Therefore, the petition seeking cancellation of bail should be dismissed. On the other hand, the CBI demanded that Tejashwi Yadav can influence the investigation while in office, so his bail should be cancelled.

Earlier, the Delhi court had asked Tejashwi Yadav to appear in court in the IRCTC hotel scam. Tejashwi reached Delhi from Patna on Monday. He said that the Narendra Modi government at the Center is harassing the leaders of opposition parties. They have faith in the court; justice will be served.

This case is related to the period from 2004 to 2009 when Tejashwi’s father Lalu Yadav was the Railway Minister. At that time, IRCTC hotels in Ranchi and Puri were given on lease. It is alleged that the Lalu family got three acres of land in Patna in lieu of the companies to whom these hotels were given on lease. Later that land was sold to a company owned by Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav at a very cheap price.
