BJP Shares Old Video Of CM Kejriwal, Raised Questions About Pollution

New Delhi, 3rd November 2022: BJP has targeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding pollution in Delhi. BJP leader Bhupendra Yadav raised questions by sharing an old video of CM Kejriwal. The whole of North India, including Delhi and Punjab, is troubled by this pollution.

The BJP has targeted the government of Delhi and Punjab for the increased pollution level in Delhi due to stubble burning in Punjab. He has asked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by tweeting who is stopping him from implementing the measures to stop stubble burning.

The Union Minister wrote in his tweet, “Sir, now who is stopping you from implementing these measures for the stubble problem of Punjab?’’ In this tweet, he also shared a two-minute video. The video has clippings of different places of CM Arvind Kejriwal. In these, the measures taken by the CM to burn the stubble and when the AAP government is not there in Punjab, questions have been raised surrounding the current government for burning the stubble there.

The share of stubble burning in PM 2.5 pollution in Delhi rose to 38 per cent on Thursday, and experts say this is the reason behind the thick layer of fog that engulfed the national capital. The rise in incidents of stubble burning has sparked a political war of words. Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav on Wednesday said the incidents of stubble burning in Punjab have increased by 19 per cent this year, as compared to 2021 and also that the Aam Aadmi Party has turned the national capital into a gas chamber.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal hit back, holding the central government accountable for the increase in stubble-burning incidents in Punjab, and said, “If it cannot control air pollution, it should resign.’’ An air quality index above 400 is considered serious and can affect healthy people and severely affect people who are already sick.

According to the Air Quality Life Index released by the Energy Policy Institute of the University of Chicago, the life expectancy of the people of Delhi has decreased by 10 years due to poor air quality. There were 3,634 incidents of stubble burning in Punjab on Wednesday, which is the highest number of such incidents this season. There were 1842 such incidents on Tuesday, 2132 on Monday, 1761 on Sunday, 1898 on Saturday, and 2067 on Friday.
