Rahul Gandhi Will Be Arrested After Lok Sabha Election As We ‘Need’ Him Now – Assam CM Himanta Sarma

Guwahati, 25th January 2024: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, as part of the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra, has entered Assam, causing significant uproar in political circles. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma accused the Congress party of attempting to create unrest in the state through the yatra.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma questioned the purpose of the yatra and raised concerns about its timing. He alleged that the Congress party had conspired to spark a significant communal conflict in Assam. A glimpse of this conspiracy was witnessed in Guwahati.

He continued, “After the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ram Mandir, communal tensions have started rising in the state. However, our party members and devotees of Lord Ram have maintained composure. They did not let anything unpleasant happen in Assam. I want to tell Rahul Gandhi that the people of Assam will see through your arrogance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.”

It is worth noting that during the Nyaya Yatra, several cases have been filed against not only Rahul Gandhi but also several Congress leaders for allegedly trying to create unrest. CM Himanta stated that they plan to arrest Rahul Gandhi after the Lok Sabha elections to avoid politicizing the matter.

The CM added, “A case has now been registered; the SIT will investigate, and we have evidence.” After his provocative statements, a major incident could have occurred in Guwahati.” We don’t want to engage in politics before the Lok Sabha elections as we are confident of winning.”

Meanwhile, CM Sarma commented on a post by Shiv Sena’s UBT leader Priyanka Chaturvedi on the social media handle X, writing, “Brother, we need Rahul Gandhi until the elections.”

The Himanta Biswa Sarma government did not permit the yatra to pass through the main roads of Guwahati. This decision stirred anger among Congress activists, leading to demonstrations and the breaking of barricades. Subsequently, cases have been filed against Congress leaders for these actions.
