Pune: Transfer and Promotion of Non-Teaching Staff in Education Department of PMC
Pune, 3rd April 2023: The Commissioner has approved the proposal for the adjustment of nearly 450 non-teaching staff in the Education Department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Accordingly, the employees of the Education Department will now be transferred to any department of the municipal corporation and will also receive a promotion. The draft seniority list will be released soon by the General Administration Department.
According to the PMC Service Entry Rules 2014, non-teaching staff of the Primary Education Department will have the opportunity for promotion. However, transfers and promotions of non-teaching staff from the Secondary and Technical Education Department are not being done in PMC, and the seniority of those non-teaching staff has been kept separate.
The seniority lists and rosters of all cadres of servants from other departments of PMC such as the Chief Audit Department, Municipal Secretary Office, and Printing Department have also been kept separate. Consolidating the seniority lists of the servants of the Primary Education Department (from the then Education Board) could result in opposition from the original cadre servants, affecting the seniority of the servants of the original cadre of PMC.
If these posts are to be merged with the PMC, the sanctioned number of posts in the Municipal Corporation will have to be changed. There is also a possibility of demand to accommodate daily wage workers of the Primary Education Department, constables, and janitors on the sanctioned posts in the municipal establishments.
Considering all these aspects, the General Administration Department proposed the adjustment to the Municipal Commissioner, who has recently approved it.
The Assistant Stenographer (Class-3), Junior Engineer (Class-3), Administrative Officer (Class-2), Superintendent (Class-3), Deputy Superintendent (Class-3), Senior Clerk (Class-3), Clerk Typist (Class-3), Peon (Class-4), Guard (Class-4), Bigari (Class-4), and Gardener (Class-4) posts are included in the adjustment.
