Maharashtra: Sanjay Raut Fires Back at BJP’s Girish Mahajan Over ‘End of Thackeray Group’ Remark, Calls Him a Coward
Mumbai, 3rd June 2025: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) spokesperson Sanjay Raut has issued a sharp rejoinder to BJP leader Girish Mahajan’s recent remarks that the Thackeray group would be “eliminated from the political landscape” in the coming days and that a major setback awaits their party within the next eight days. Addressing the media in Delhi, Raut criticized Mahajan’s comments as reckless and reflective of a slip of tongue.
Raut pointedly remarked, “Names like Eknath Shinde, Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, and Sunil Tatkare are now associated with their party. Today, the BJP in Maharashtra is a collection of the most corrupt, treacherous, and anti-national elements. Once, the BJP was considered a party of principled, Hindutva-oriented, and cultured people, led by stalwarts such as Manohar Joshi, Lal Krishna Advani, Vasantrao Bhagwat, and Pandurang Fundkar. But now, who controls the party? Brokers, corrupt individuals, and contractors are at the helm. And these are the people who claim our party will be finished.”
He further lambasted Girish Mahajan, calling him a “coward” and a “broker,” and stated, “Where is your party now? You have the police and money in your hands. You break parties using the power of tenders and extortion. Girish Mahajan is just a broker among them. I don’t want to say much about him. The day we are in power, the first person to switch sides will be Girish Mahajan. When Uddhav Thackeray was Chief Minister, inquiries were initiated against him. When probes into his financial irregularities began, he was sending messages that he would quit politics and sit quietly. These are cowardly people.”
Raut also asserted that every party and individual has their time, and Shiv Sena’s time will come again. He reminded that the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena was born out of pure ideology and that no one can finish it. He accused Girish Mahajan and the BJP of using divisive language and warned that such rhetoric will only sink their own party. Raut also took aim at Amit Shah, claiming he wants to break Maharashtra, and said that Girish Mahajan is merely his agent. He concluded by reiterating the resilience of Shiv Sena and its commitment to its founding principles.
