IPS Officer Siddharth Kaushal Takes Voluntary Retirement, Dismisses Claims of Pressure or Harassment

Hyderabad, 3rd July 2025: Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Siddharth Kaushal has voluntarily stepped down from service, bringing to a close a distinguished 13-year-long career in law enforcement across Andhra Pradesh. In the face of media speculation, Kaushal issued a clear statement asserting that his resignation is entirely personal and not the result of any external pressure or harassment.

In an official press note, the 2012-batch officer stated, “I have tendered my voluntary resignation from the Indian Police Service, a decision made on purely personal grounds after deep personal reflection. It is a step taken in alignment with my long-term life goals and the wishes of my family members.”

Kaushal strongly rejected reports suggesting that his exit was linked to professional harassment or coercion. “I wish to state unequivocally that such claims are completely baseless and misleading,” he clarified.

Throughout his career, Kaushal held several prominent positions, including Superintendent of Police in Krishna and Prakasam districts. His most recent role was Inspector General (Law & Order) for Andhra Pradesh, where he earned recognition for his leadership and strategic approach to policing.

Reflecting on his career, Kaushal described his time in service as “the most fulfilling and enriching journey” of his life. “As I move forward, I do so with gratitude, purpose, and clarity, looking to contribute to society in new and meaningful ways in the years to come,” he added.

Sources indicate that Kaushal is likely to transition into the private sector, with a corporate role expected to be based in New Delhi. His next move is anticipated to build on his administrative experience and leadership skills acquired during his tenure in public service.
