Maharashtra Surpasses Karnataka and Gujarat, Reclaims Top Spot in Foreign Investment
Thane, 1st January 2024: In a significant achievement, the state of Maharashtra has reclaimed the top spot in terms of foreign investment, surpassing Karnataka and Gujarat. Entrepreneurs continue to prefer Maharashtra as their primary choice for starting businesses, attributing this preference to the conducive business environment in the state.
Last year, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed confidence that the state would attract record investments. He highlighted the signing of 1337 thousand crore contracts in the previous year, with 85 per cent of them already underway. Shinde attributed the rapid development of the state to the coordinated efforts of the central and state governments, terming it a “double engine” government.
Shiv Sena Thane City Branch and Raktadan Group Maharashtra State organized a Blood Donation Camp and State Level Raktadan Award Distribution Ceremony in Thane. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde participated in the event, donating blood and interacting with attendees. The initiative, started by the late Thane District Chief of Shiv Sena Anand Dighe, has been ongoing for the past 29 years.
The Swachhta Abhiyan, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015, is currently being implemented in Maharashtra, with Mumbai leading the way. Chief Minister Shinde emphasized that the cleanliness campaign has evolved into a people’s movement and is not just a government initiative. The campaign aims to make the entire state clean, green, and beautiful.
Chief Minister Shinde paid homage to the late Balasaheb Thackeray on the eve of Balasaheb’s birth anniversary. He noted the upcoming inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22 as a real tribute to Balasaheb, fulfilling the dreams of millions of Ram devotees.
Addressing critics of the Swachhta Abhiyan, Chief Minister Shinde reaffirmed the commitment to the cleanliness mission. He emphasized that the campaign is not a mere photo session but a dedicated effort towards achieving pure cleanliness. Shinde responded to opponents, stating that despite criticisms, the mission will persist, focusing on the health and well-being of citizens.
