Uddhav Thackeray’s faction Seeks Stay On The Action Of Election Commission
Mumbai, 25th July 2022: Uddhav Thackeray’s faction has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the action of the Election Commission. The Eknath Shinde faction has claimed before the Election Commission that his group is the real Shiv Sena. In this regard, the Election Commission had asked both the parties to present their claims in support. After the rebellion, the battle for control over Shiv Sena started in Maharashtra. The commission had sought claims and objections from both groups by August 8.
In the application presented on behalf of Uddhav Camp, it has been said that this matter is still pending in court. Therefore, the Election Commission cannot proceed further on this matter. Both the parties have filed petitions in the apex court regarding each other’s MLAs and other matters.
Shiv Sena chief Thackeray has said that unlike previous rebellions in the party, this time the revolt is aimed at ending Shiv Sena. Addressing Shiv Sena workers after inaugurating a ward-level party office in south Mumbai on Sunday, Thackeray claimed that the Shiv Sena is in politics for Hindutva, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) uses Hindutva for its political interests.
Thackeray said, “Unlike the earlier rebellions, this rebellion is to destroy Shiv Sena forever. They have engaged professional agencies to counter us. It is a battle between money and loyalty.”
Thackeray said, “The fight has now reached the Election Commission of India as well, with both the factions claiming to be the original Shiv Sena. We not only need enthusiasm, but also solid support and registration of people as party members.”
Without naming anyone, the former chief minister took a jibe at his cousin and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray, who had reportedly said that he would merge 40 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs into his party if need be. Will consider granting permission.
Uddhav Thackeray said, “I know that a proposal has been made for these people. I don’t know what kind of ‘chemical imbalance’ it is, but these people don’t know what they have messed with.”
