Eknath Shinde Gives Another Blow To Uddhav Thackeray, Writes Letter To Election Commission
Mumbai/New Delhi, 20th July 2022: There is currently a dispute between the Eknath Shinde group and Uddhav Thackeray over who is the original Shiv Sena. Since the Shinde group is claiming that they are the original Shiv Sena, the conflict is on and the case has gone to the Supreme Court.
Now 12 MPs have also supported the Shinde group and its strength has increased. In the meantime, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has now approached the Central Election Commission to take control of the Shiv Sena. In a letter written to the Central Election Commission by the Shinde group, the majority of Shiv Sena leaders appointed by Uddhav Thackeray have come together to form a new executive.
On Monday, the Eknath Shinde group announced a new national executive, dismissing the old national executive of the Shiv Sena. A group of Shiv Sena MPs attended the online meeting of the national executive chaired by Eknath Shinde on Monday.
Eknath Shinde was appointed as the ‘main leader’ of the party in this meeting which was called before the hearing of the Supreme Court.
In this executive, Eknath Shinde was declared as the main leader of Shiv Sena, while Deepak Kesarkar was appointed as the spokesperson. Also, Tanaji Sawant, Vijay Nahata, Yashwant Jadhav, Gulabrao Patil were elected as deputy leaders of Shiv Sena, while Ramdas Kadam and Ananda Rao Adsul, who were expelled from Shiv Sena, were elected as leaders.
12 Shiv Sena MPs joined their group in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, sealing the split of the parliamentary party. The Shinde group has appointed Rahul Shewale as the group leader in the Lok Sabha, which has been approved by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Despite Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray accepting the demand to support candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election, 12 MPs of Shiv Sena finally joined the Shinde faction. The Shinde group on Tuesday submitted a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla requesting him to appoint Rahul Shewale to replace Shiv Sena group leader Vinayak Raut in the Lok Sabha.
Along with the 12 rebel MPs who signed this letter, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a press conference and presented his position. Shinde said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has full support for the alliance government of the Shinde Group-BJP in the state.
Uddhav also wanted an alliance: Shewale
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Delhi last year and discussed the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance for an hour. However, the discussion stalled as 12 BJP MLAs were suspended within a month, MP Rahul Shewale claimed that Uddhav Thackeray had given the green light for an alliance with the BJP even after the revolt of the Shiv Sena MLAs.
