Fadnavis Cabinet Expansion: 39 Ministers, Including 18 First-Time MLAs, Sworn In; Here’s the List
Mumbai, 16th December 2024: The Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, expanded its cabinet by inducting 39 ministers, including 18 first-time MLAs, from its allies Shiv Sena and NCP. This brings the total number of ministers to 42, just one short of the maximum permissible limit of 43.
Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath of office to the new ministers in a ceremony held in Nagpur on Sunday. The cabinet was formed ten days after Fadnavis took office, with Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar serving as his deputies.

Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde congratulated all party MLAs who took the oath of office, expressing his confidence that each minister would meet the expectations of the people. Shinde shared his best wishes for their ministerial careers and emphasized their commitment to public service.
Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief, assured party workers that MLAs left out of the cabinet would also have the chance to serve. He added that there would be opportunities for others to join the government after two and a half years.
