Modi Ministers Face Defeats: 26 Down

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, including Smriti Irani, 26 ministers from the Modi government, including three cabinet ministers, suffered defeats. Arjun Munda was defeated in Khunti by Congress’ Kalicharan Munda. R. K. Singh lost from Bihar’s Ara constituency, and Mahendra Nath Pandey was defeated in Chandauli. Uttar Pradesh saw losses for ministers Ajay Mishra Teni, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Kaushal Kishore, and Bhanupratap Singh Verma. Maharashtra ministers Raosaheb Danve, Kapil Patil, and Bharati Pawar, along with ministers from other states, also faced defeats. Notably, Abdul Rashid Sheikh and Amritpal Singh won despite being in jail.
