66 out of 67 Corporators Come With Eknath Shinde in Thane

Thane, 7th July 2022: The rebellion that started in Shiv Sena has now shifted from the legislature party to the corporators. It is reported that 66 out of 67 corporators joined Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction in Thane on Wednesday.

There were reports that Thackeray, the former Maharashtra CM, is already trying to keep MPs, corporators and party office-bearers together after losing around 40 MLAs. Its direct impact can be seen in the Thane civic polls.

Out of 67 corporators gathered at Nandanvan, CM Shinde’s residence, 66 have taken an oath to support the Shinde camp. The special thing is that during this time only the wife of MP Rajan Vichare, Nandini Vichare did not join the faction. It is being said that after the support of such a large number of councilors, Thane’s fight has become Shinde vs Thackeray.

Mayor Naresh Mhaske, who took the side, said, “We were all with him from day one. However, earlier some people did not show it openly. So we have decided that all of us should come together to show official support to Shinde. Only Nandini Vichare is not with us. Two more councilors, Naresh Manera and Sudhar Kokate, could not be present as Manera had bypass surgery and Kokate was on tour. However, they are with us.

Thoughts instead of Vichare

Shiv Sena’s new party whip Rajan Vichare is now with the Thackeray family. He has refused to support Shinde. In such a situation, his wife is now the only Shiv Sena councilor in Thane city.

MPs will also break!

Gulabrao Patil, who was a minister in the Thackeray government, had recently claimed that 12 out of 18 Shiv Sena MPs may join the Shinde faction. The special thing is that recently an MP had asked party chief Thackeray to support NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu. Along with this, he had also demanded similar instructions from the party.
