Rahul Gandhi Leverages Social Media to Engage Public on Congress Manifesto

New Delhi, 7th April 2024: In New Delhi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took to social media on Sunday to invite public feedback on the party’s manifesto, which has garnered praise for its innovative approach. Encouraging citizens to share their opinions, Gandhi emphasized the manifesto’s resonance with the aspirations of every Indian.

 

Posting a video on Instagram, Gandhi explained that although the video was recorded late at night, he deemed the message timely and relevant for dissemination. He expressed gratitude to those who contributed to crafting the manifesto, highlighting its perceived revolutionary nature.

 

The Congress party unveiled its manifesto, titled ‘Nyay Patra’, on April 5 at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in Delhi. Presented by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge alongside former presidents Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, the manifesto is anchored on the party’s commitment to justice, delineated through its ‘five pillars.’

 

The ‘Nyay Patra’ pledges encompass a range of promises, including:

 

– Ensuring social justice through a comprehensive socio-economic and caste census aimed at cataloging various castes and sub-castes alongside their socio-economic status.

– Promoting gender equality by reserving 50% of central government jobs for women from 2025 onwards.

– Introducing legislation to formally recognize civil unions among LGBTQIA+ couples following extensive consultations.

– Providing legal assurance for Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for farmers, aligning with the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission.

 

The Lok Sabha Elections 2024 are scheduled to be conducted in seven phases, commencing on April 19 and concluding on June 1, with the results slated for declaration on June 4.
