Prime Minister Narendra Modi Leads Campaign Trail with Vibrant Roadshows in Jalpaiguri and Jabalpur

Kolkata, 7th April 2024: As the countdown to the upcoming general elections continues, political campaigning is reaching its peak across the nation. On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a public meeting in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, followed by a vibrant roadshow in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee led a spirited roadshow in West Midnapore in support of party Lok Sabha candidate Deepak Adhikari. Additionally, several other political parties, including the Congress, actively participated in election campaigns throughout India.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to unfold in seven phases, beginning on April 19. Subsequent phases will be conducted on April 26, May 7, 13, 20, 25, and June 1. The culmination of this democratic exercise will occur on June 4, with the counting of votes for all 543 Lok Sabha seats.

Amidst this electoral fervor, the BJP has set ambitious targets, aiming to surpass its previous achievements of securing parliamentary majorities in the 2014 and 2019 general elections. With aspirations to secure 370 seats independently and over 400 with coalition partners, the BJP, led by PM Modi, seeks to secure a third consecutive term. In contrast, the Congress has formed the INDIA bloc to bolster its electoral prospects, aiming to disrupt the BJP’s dominance and prevent PM Modi from clinching a third consecutive term. The Congress, which secured 44 and 52 seats in the 2014 and 2019 elections respectively, is striving to stage a resurgence in the upcoming polls.
