Pune: Purandar Airport Land Acquisition Notification To Come Out In 15 Days

Pune, 7th November 2022: The Maha Vikas Aghadi government planned to make the international airport for Pune in Baramati. However, this place has been de-sanctioned by the central government. Therefore, the airport project will be made only in seven villages in Purandar. All types of permissions have been obtained for this location. Former Minister of State Vijay Shivtare on Wednesday (December 7) expressed the belief that the notification of airport land acquisition will be issued in the next 15 days.

Speaking to reporters in Pune, former state minister Shivtare said, “The Mahavikas Aghadi government had decided to do the airport project at Baramati. However, the new seat has been rejected by the Centre.”

“In seven villages of Purandar taluka, the project will take place in the previously determined area, and all kinds of permissions have been obtained. Land acquisition will be done through Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). Notification in this regard will be issued in the next 15 days,” he added further.

“The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) had proposed to build the airport terminal at Supe instead of the seven villages earmarked for the Purandar airport. However, the Center has denied it. Citizens of these seven villages did not show the willingness to give land to the project due to some reasons. Therefore, the land for the airport will be acquired through MIDC,” he said. Shivtare also clarified that the notification in this regard will be issued within 15 days.
