Nine Solapur Division Employees Receive Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar at Central Railway Awards
Solapur, 23rd January 2026: Nine railway employees from Solapur Division were among the recipients of the 70th Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar 2025, presented at a ceremony held on January 21, 2026 at the Central Railway Auditorium, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai.
During the event, the General Manager of Central Railway, Vivek Kumar Gupta, conferred awards on 98 individuals for excellence in performance and presented 24 shields to various divisions, workshops and stations. Solapur Division secured two major honours—the Works Efficiency Shield and the Track Machine Shield, which were received by the Divisional Railway Manager of Solapur and the divisional team.
In the individual awards category, the following nine employees from Solapur Division were honoured with the Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar for their performance in respective departments:

Vijay Suryabhan Yadav, Chief Depot Material Superintendent, Stores Department, Kurduvadi Workshop
Ravindra Shankar Rathod, Senior Technician (Welder), Kurduvadi Workshop, Civil Defence
Addressing the gathering, the General Manager referred to Central Railway’s recent achievement of winning five shields at the Railway Board level and outlined focus areas for 2026, including safety, technology adoption, innovation, maintenance upgradation, training and skill development, and organisational reforms.
The ceremony was attended by the Additional General Manager, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Principal Heads of Departments, Divisional Railway Managers, senior officials of Central Railway, members of the Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation, and representatives of recognised unions.
The programme was preceded by a cultural presentation by artistes from the Central Railway Cultural Academy and was streamed live on YouTube. A QR-code-based system was introduced by the Public Relations Department to enable live viewing of the event.
