Mumbai: BJP And MNS Most Likely To Form Alliance For Upcoming BMC Elections

Mumbai, 31st August 2022: The elections for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are going to be held soon. According to reports, discussions are going on between Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding an alliance for the elections.

However, this has not been confirmed by the parties.

On Tuesday, BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule met MNS chief Raj Thackeray at his residence Shivtirth. A day before this, BJP’s national general secretary Vinod Tawde also met Raj. Whereas, the MNS chief had reached his residence in Malabar to meet the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

According to a report in the Indian Express, insiders told that the discussions between the two parties regarding the BMC elections are in the early stages. In Raj, the BJP sees a strong orator who can give an aggressive fight to Uddhav Thackeray and the Sambhaji Brigade.

According to the report, a BJP leader said, “Raj Thackeray may not win seats, but his rallies will help create an atmosphere for the BJP against the Mahavikas Aghadi.

An MNS functionary says, “MNS wants to contest BMC elections, but an alliance with BJP and Shinde faction should be proper.”
