Maharashtra: ‘Achhe Din’ For Navneet Rana, Husband Ravi Rana May Find Place In Eknath Shinde Government
Mumbai, 4th August 2022: Navneet Rana’s name suddenly came into the limelight in the politics of Maharashtra. The Independent MP had given an open challenge to the then Chief Minister of the state, Uddhav Thackeray. She and her MLA husband Ravi Rana were also arrested. Ravi Rana may now find a place in tomorrow’s cabinet expansion. Ravi Rana has also extended his support to the government of Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis.
The Amravati MP, Navneet Rana, and her husband, MLA Ravi Rana, had claimed to read the Hanuman Chalisa outside Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s private residence ‘Matoshree’, which they later canceled amid heavy protests by Shiv Sainiks. Sanjay Raut said that Navneet Rana was accused of working at the behest of the central government.
Both the leaders were arrested by the Mumbai Police on April 23. The two leaders were arrested by the Mumbai Police for ‘creating enmity between different groups.’ Mumbai Police had registered a case against MLA Ravi Rana and MP Navneet Kaur Rana at Khar police station under sections 153 (A), 34, IPC r/w 37(1) 135 Bombay Police Act.
The Rana family retaliated, accusing Thackeray of carrying out the incident. Navneet Kaur claimed that the Maharashtra CM had ordered Shiv Sena workers to harass them, while her husband Ravi Rana said that Uddhav Thackeray merely wished for political gains.
