Lord Ram Was Meat Eater? NCP’s Jitendra Awhad Creates Another Controversy
Shirdi, 4th January 2024: Jitendra Awhad, NCP leader of Sharad Pawar’s faction, made a controversial statement on Lord Ram, referring to him as a meat eater. After delivering this statement in Shirdi, a political stir has erupted in Maharashtra. The BJP has strongly criticized the NCP leader, accusing opposition figures of finding joy in disrespecting Hindu deities.
Awhad is currently in Shirdi, the sacred place of Saibaba, to attend his party’s two-day conclave. While discussing Lord Ram, he suggested that people should consider how someone living in the forest for about 14 years could find enough vegetarian food to sustain.
In addition to his comments on Lord Ram, Awhad asserted that India gained independence from British rule due to the capable leadership of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. He went on to express his view that the RSS struggles to accept the idea of an OBC individual, Gandhi, being the greatest leader in India’s freedom struggle against the British.
Awhad also stated that the primary reason behind Gandhi’s assassination was communalism, a fact he believes will persist regardless of what the BJP and RSS claim.
Reacting to Awhad’s remarks about Lord Ram, the BJP emphasized that Hindu devotees would not tolerate such statements.
The controversy continues to fuel tensions between political factions in Maharashtra.
