Jitendra Awhad Holds Press conference To Answer Questions Regarding Accusations

Thane, 14th November 2022: The political atmosphere in Mumbra and Thane has heated up today with the filing of a molestation case against former state minister and sitting NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad. On the morning after this case was filed, based on a complaint filed by a woman office bearer of BJP, Awhad tweeted that he will resign from MLA. After that, while reactions were being expressed from all levels on this matter, Awhad held a press conference and disclosed why he had decided to resign.

Awhad held a press conference in Mumbai today in the background of this case along with NCP state president Jayant Patil. In this press conference, Awhad gave information about what happened. Earlier, Jayant Patil showed a video showing the sequence of events leading up to the alleged molestation, claiming that Awad referred to the woman who had accused him as his sister. Jayant Patil read out in detail what exactly the crime is called in section 354, under which the case has been registered. Also, Patil asked the police where the incident fits in all these cases.

Awhad, presenting his side, said, “It is fine if it is murder or any other crime. But a case of rape has been registered. I have never done that in my life. I don’t know how the police filed a case.” “This is a conspiracy to make my face go down in shame in society,” Awad also alleged.

“My daughter is being asked by her friends if her father molested her. So it is better not to stay in politics. There should not be such low-level politics. Homes will be destroyed,” Awad warned all political parties and opponents. After the case was registered, Awhad himself said, “Police have registered two false cases against me in 72 hours…I will fight against this police brutality… I am deciding to resign from my MLA… I cannot see the killing of democracy with naked eyes.”
