19% Of Muslims Can Vote For BJP In Gujarat: Voter Survey

Gujarat, 14th November 2022: BJP has been shown an edge in different surveys regarding the Gujarat assembly elections. But now, another claim has been made in the C-Voter survey which is shocking. According to the C-Voter survey, BJP has good penetration among Muslim voters in Gujarat elections. According to the survey, 47 per cent of Muslim voters can go to Congress. On the other hand, Owaisi, who claims to represent Muslims, is likely to get only 9 percent of the vote. The shocking fact here is that 19% of Muslims can vote for the BJP. On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party is expected to get up to 25% of the vote.

Even though 19 per cent of votes in BJP’s account is not a big figure, looking at BJP’s old record, it is surprising to political analysts. In the BJP’s national executive meeting held in Hyderabad this year, PM Narendra Modi taught the BJP to go among the Muslims as well. In particular, he said that they should focus on Pasmanda Muslims, who have had no political representation till now. During this, he also mentioned the experiment by BJP in Gujarat and said that a section of Pasmanda Muslims has been voting for BJP there.

Now the claims of the survey have stamped the efforts of PM Narendra Modi. The BJP has now started making efforts to woo the Pasmanda Muslims. A rally of Pasmanda Muslims was also held in Bareilly, UP, on Sunday, in which a large number of Muslims raised slogans of Yogi and Modi Zindabad. It was quite different to see such a scene in a polarizing state like Uttar Pradesh. It is clear that the BJP’s efforts to connect the Pasmanda Muslims were only sporadic, but now the effect is visible. The BJP has been continuously saying that its governments have never prepared schemes based on caste and religion. Minorities have got the maximum of the schemes during his rule.

BJP’s attempt to penetrate Muslims is giving sleepless nights to the parties doing politics of secularism. Parties like Samajwadi Party and BSP in UP, Congress in Gujarat, Congress in Maharashtra, and NCP may get jolted by BJP’s strategy. Already in many states, the BJP is garnering more than 40 percent of votes. In such a situation, its increasing reach among minorities can expand its scope. However, it will be clear from the results of Gujarat how much inroad BJP is making among minorities.
