Finally, Expansion Of Maharashtra State Cabinet After 40 Days

Mumbai, 9th August 2022: The Mahavikas Aghadi government collapsed due to the rebellion of Shiv Sena MLAs.

The Eknath Shinde-Devendra Fadnavis government that was formed after that got the opportunity to expand the state cabinet after almost 40 days. Sanjay Rathod, Abdul Sattar, who has become controversial while expanding this cabinet, has also been named as a member of the Shinde faction.

Two and a half years ago, Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi state government, where BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party) has the most number of MLAs, to join the opposition party. For the last two years, BJP has been trying to topple the government in various ways.

Uddhav Thackeray had to resign from the post of Chief Minister due to the revolt of Eknath Shinde’s group in June. After that, unexpectedly, BJP made Eknath Shinde Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis as Deputy Chief Minister.

Then the new government of the state was criticized for not expanding the cabinet while the administration of the state was being conducted through the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. Meanwhile, in the petition filed in the Supreme Court, it was to be decided whether the Shinde government would survive or fall, but since the hearing was postponed three times and the court did not give a decision immediately, it was decided to expand the state cabinet.

Accordingly, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshari administered oath to 18 ministers in the first phase, nine from the Shinde group and nine from the BJP group.

The list of ministers is as follows:
