Eknath Shinde Explains Why He Rebelled On Nana Patekar’s Interview For Maharashtra Mahamulakht
Mumbai, 12th October 2022: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde told actor Nana Patekar during a TV interview why he broke Shiv Sena. Responding to a question asked by Patekar, Shinde said, “Some things have a tolerance limit, but when the water goes over the head, a decision has to be made. We are not happy because of what we have done.”
Shinde was answering the questions of Nana Patekar in Maharashtra Mahamulakht, organized by Lokmat. During this, Shinde explained in detail the emotional and political reasons why he rebelled against Shiv Sena.
Eknath Shinde said, “The party in which we worked for so many years – we worked hard, shed blood and sweat, worked tirelessly – never heeded our request. There was no guarantee that we would reach home after work. Still, we did everything possible. When something went wrong, we had to make a decision. We took the decision because the party was losing its identity. We decided to save the party. I think there is nothing wrong with that.”
Eknath Shinde said that they made requests five times. There was an opportunity, but unfortunately, it did not happen. “I am a worker of Balasaheb and Anand Dighe, so I took this big step,” he stated.
Eknath Shinde explained the theory behind getting the bow and arrow symbol. He said, “We don’t need to tell anyone about the election symbol. We will get it based on merit. The Election Commission could not take a decision because of the Andheri bypolls. But we will get the bow and arrow in the future. This is because 40 out of 55 MLAs are with us. Also, 12 out of 18 MPs are with us, and their vote count is 69 lakhs – this means we have more than 70 percent of the votes polled by Shiv Sena.” Eknath Shinde said that the majority is respected in a democracy.
