Aditya Thackeray Demands Koshyari’s Dismissal After His Comment On Shivaji Maharaj

Mumbai, 20th November 2022: Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s statement regarding Shivaji Maharaj has heated the political atmosphere in the state again. The Governor’s statement is being condemned at all levels. Meanwhile, MLA Aditya Thackeray has also protested against the Governor’s statement and demanded that the Prime Minister and the President should relieve him from office. He also said that he has not seen such a political governor to date. Speaking to the media in Mumbai, he gave his reaction to this.

“This is not the first statement of the governor. Even earlier, he had mentioned Shivaji Maharaj. He had made a similar statement about Mahatma Phule. It should be checked whether this is being done knowingly or if they have some intention behind it. Also, he should apologize for his statement about Shivrayan and the Prime Minister or the President should remove him from office,” said Thackeray group leader Aditya Thackeray.

“Overall, this attempt is on to gentrify Maharashtra. Be it the projects taken out of the state or the undeclared wet drought for the farmers, there are many questions in the state today. In such a situation, it was never expected that the Governor would make such a statement. I saw many governors. However, I have never seen such a political governor”, he added. Also speaking on this occasion, he also criticized the BJP on the statement of BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi regarding Shivaji Mahar. “What is in BJP’s mind is now coming out,” he said.

Speaking at the 62nd convocation ceremony of Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, the Governor made a controversial statement about Shivaji Maharaj. “In the past, when asked who is your role model, the answers used to be ‘Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose and Mahatma Gandhi’. But you don’t need to look for role models in Maharashtra, because there are so many role models here. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the old days, while Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Nitin Gadkari are the role models of the new age,” he said.
