Vinmra Rajyasevak’: Governor Koshiyari Issues Apology Over His Remarks On Rajasthani And Gujrati People

Mumbai, 2nd August 2020: Maharashtra’s Governor’s recent comment on Rajasthani and Gujrati people created a huge uproar in Maharashtra. Shivsena & Congress demanded an unconditional apology from the Governor.
                                                                                                                                    Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said, “These are Governor’s personal comment and we do not support these remarks.”
On 29th July 2022, during the inauguration of a chowk in Andheri, the Governor said, “I often tell this to people here that if you remove Gujaratis and Rajasthanis from the state of Maharashtra, in specific from Mumbai-Thane, then there will be no money left. You can’t call mumbai as the financial capital.”
Deputy CM Fadavnis said, “I am not in agreement with the Governor’s statement. We know the contribution of Marathi People in the development of Maharashtra. In this journey of state development, though many people are involved but this cannot belittle the valuable contribution or importance of marathi people.”
The Governor’s statement was condemned on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.
The Governor’s office has posted his unconditional apology on its official Twitter account which says, ‘In the said address, unintentionally, if I have made a mistake, I request this is unintentional & needn’t be seen as slander to great state of Maharashtra. While abiding by the teachings of the Great Saints of Maharashtra, kindly forgive this Vinmra Rajyasevak.”
