Indian Army, CISF Conclude Two-Week Joint Counter-Terrorism Training in Pune
Aundh, 21st July 2026: The Indian Army’s Southern Command has successfully concluded a two-week Joint Training Capsule with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at Aundh Military Station in Pune, aimed at strengthening inter-agency coordination and enhancing preparedness for counter-terrorism operations.
The training programme was conducted as part of the Indian Army’s ongoing efforts to reinforce the Whole of Nation approach to national security and promote Military-Civil Fusion. It focused on improving interoperability, sharing best practices, and enhancing operational readiness to tackle urban counter-terrorism and internal security challenges.
A total of 102 CISF personnel, including 10 women combatants, participated in the training alongside Indian Army troops. The participants underwent intensive, scenario-based exercises designed to simulate realistic operational environments.
The training capsule included urban counter-terrorism drills, validation of tactical procedures, response protocols, and joint operational concepts. It also provided participants with insights into contemporary security challenges, helping both forces develop a common understanding of coordinated responses to evolving threats.
According to the Defence Wing of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the joint exercise significantly enhanced inter-agency coordination, refined joint operational capabilities, and strengthened mutual trust between the Indian Army and the CISF.
