PM Modi Slams MVA Coalition, Accuses Them of Stalling Maharashtra’s Development

Chandrapur, 12th November 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a strong critique of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition during a rally in Maharashtra on Tuesday, accusing them of being “the biggest players of corruption” and hindering the state’s development.

Speaking in Chimur, Chandrapur district, PM Modi criticized the MVA — a coalition of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and Congress — for obstructing Maharashtra’s growth. He specifically highlighted the long-standing demand for rail connectivity in Chandrapur, which, he claimed, was blocked by the MVA.

“The rapid development of Maharashtra is out of reach for the Aghadi,” Modi said. “They have mastered the art of stalling development… Congress excels at it,” he added. He referred to the MVA as “the biggest players of corruption,” emphasizing their role in holding back progress.

PM Modi assured the people that the BJP’s election manifesto would serve as a “Vikas Ki Guarantee” (development guarantee) for Maharashtra over the next five years. He stressed that with the BJP’s alliance with the state’s ruling Mahayuti and the NDA government at the Centre, Maharashtra would benefit from a “double engine” government, accelerating development.

The Prime Minister also aimed at Congress and the Gandhi family, accusing them of elitism and exclusion. “Congress has always had the mindset that it was born to rule the country,” he said. Modi further alleged that Congress had obstructed the progress of marginalized communities, including Dalits, backward classes, and Adivasis, after Independence.

Referring to an old Congress advertisement from Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure as Prime Minister, PM Modi suggested it reflected the party’s “anti-reservation” stance.

Maharashtra’s single-phase Assembly election will take place on November 20, with results to be declared on November 23.
