Vote For BJP, Not AAP: Congress Leader Appeals From Stage

Delhi, 7th November 2022: After the announcement of the dates for the assembly elections in Gujarat, the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are busy campaigning vigorously. Amidst the claims of their victory, all the leaders are working hard to increase one vote each for their party. Meanwhile, the statement of Congress leader Lalit Vasoya is becoming fiercely viral, in which he appealed from the stage to vote for BJP. While advising to avoid ‘AAP’, Congress leaders even said that if you want, vote for BJP only. Now after getting gritty, he has clarified that he had said so while taunting.

Senior Congress leader and MLA from Dhoraji Lalit Vasosa was seeking votes for Congress from the stage in a public meeting. During this, he also talked about voting for BJP. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party has come to distribute the Congress vote. If someone talks about the Aam Aadmi Party, I tell you from the stage, vote for the BJP but not the Aam Aadmi Party. The party started getting ugly.

Aam Aadmi Party’s convener and Delhi CM also tweeted the video and reiterated his old allegation of BJP-Congress collusion. Kejriwal wrote, “Look at this. Senior Congress leader is openly saying from the stage that votes for Aam Aadmi Party, vote for BJP. Is there still any doubt that these two are contesting elections together? Both are only against AAP.”

Seeing the growing controversy over his statement, Vasova clarified and said that he had said this with a taunt and appealed to avoid the thugs of Delhi. “Aam Aadmi Party has come on behalf of BJP to divide the anti-incumbency vote in Gujarat. AAP wants to divide Congress’ vote. The people of Gujarat and the country have seen the result of the Gandhinagar Corporation. AAP was brought in to end years of power and people saw the result. That’s why I appealed to the people of Gujarat to avoid the thugs of Delhi.”
