Transform Mumbai: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Instructs Officials

Mumbai, 7th December 2022: Mumbai should be visually transformed by undertaking beautification work in such a way as to add to the glory of Mumbai, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated while providing directions to undertake this work. Meanwhile, about 187 works of beautification in Mumbai will be launched by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister on December 8.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed the beautification of Mumbai at Sahyadri Guest House. At this time, Assembly Speaker Adv. Rahul Narvekar, Mumbai City Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar, Mumbai Suburban Guardian Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha MP Rahul Shewale, and MLA Ashish Shelar were present.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, “Mumbai beautification work has been accelerated in the last four months. Decisions like the concretization of roads and beautification of wadis will add to the glory of dynamic Mumbai. The meetings of the G20 Council are being held in Maharashtra, and the first meeting will be held in Mumbai. This honour has been given to our state and Mumbai, and for that, the city should be transformed and branded strongly.”

“5000 sanitation workers should be appointed to make Mumbai beautiful so that cleanliness can be seen as a change in appearance. Important buildings should be illuminated, and important roads, squares, skywalks, and flyovers should be beautified. This work should be undertaken on a mission mode,” directed the Chief Minister.

“The construction of toilets in the metropolis should be sped up. At the same time, the construction of up-to-date toilets on the Eastern Expressway and Western Expressway should be done immediately. Skywalks in the city should be illuminated. At the same time, security guards should be appointed from the Maharashtra Security Corporation on the skywalk,” said Eknath Shinde.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “Roads, beaches, and toilets in Mumbai should be cleaned continuously. For that, the Municipal Corporation should identify the necessary machinery and equipment for the cleanliness needs of the city. The Deputy Chief Minister also directed that the best concepts in the world regarding cleanliness should be implemented in Mumbai. The concept of the community washing machine should be implemented in slum areas”.

On this occasion, Mumbai Municipal Commissioner I. S Chahal presented Mumbai’s beautification. Information about resurfacing of roads in Mumbai, beautification of footpaths, roads, bridges, traffic islands, wall painting, parks and koliwada was given on this occasion.
