Saleem Ahmad Takes Charge as CMD of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited on December 23

New Delhi, 23rd December 2025: Saleem Ahmad assumed charge as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Navratna Central government public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, on December 23, 2025, officials said.

Prior to his appointment at RVNL, Ahmad was serving as Director (Projects) at NBCC (India). He is a civil engineer with 33 years of experience in the construction and infrastructure sector.

During his career, Ahmad has held senior positions including Executive Director (Civil) at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and has also worked with the Mumbai Port Trust. His professional experience includes execution of large-scale infrastructure projects such as bridges, tunnels, and residential and commercial buildings.

Ahmad has been associated with urban transport and infrastructure development and has presented papers on sustainable infrastructure and urban mobility at national and international forums. During his tenure with Delhi Metro, he was involved in the design and implementation of last-mile connectivity solutions.

He is a 1990-batch civil engineering graduate from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi.
