Resignation of Arun Kumar, Vice President of Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party, Adds Intrigue to Bihar’s Political Landscape

Patna, 28th March 2024: The political landscape in Bihar is witnessing a surge in activity as the Lok Sabha elections draw near. The phenomenon of leaders switching parties in pursuit of tickets continues unabated, adding to the dynamism of the electoral arena. Amidst this fervour, Chirag Paswan has encountered a significant setback with the resignation of Arun Kumar, the National Vice President of Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). Kumar’s decision to part ways with the party has stirred discussions, with speculation rife that his resignation stems from not securing the Jehanabad seat.

Expressing his sentiments, Kumar stated that he would consult his supporters before deciding on contesting elections from Jehanabad, revealing a sense of disillusionment with the situation. He lamented feeling deceived and emphasized that the people of Bihar are witnessing the unfolding events.

Kumar highlighted the history of his association with Chirag Paswan, recalling their party merger at Paswan’s behest. However, he asserted that they are not passive observers but rather seasoned politicians striving for the welfare and empowerment of the people for over four decades, which led to his decision to distance himself from the party.

Regarding the electoral strategy of Chirag Paswan’s party, it has announced its intent to contest from Vaishali, Hajipur, Samastipur, Khagaria, and Jamui constituencies.
