New Delhi, 31st July 2025: In a scathing critique of the Narendra Modi-led government, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi echoed recent remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, declaring that “India’s economy is dead.”
Taking to social media platform X, Gandhi blamed Prime Minister Modi for the current economic state and listed five key factors he believes contributed to the downturn:
– The alleged nexus between PM Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani
– The impact of demonetisation and the rollout of what he called a flawed GST
– Failure of the ‘Assemble in India’ initiative
– The collapse of small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)
– Widespread distress among farmers
