Pune Politics Abuzz as Vasant More Meets Sharad Pawar, Sanjay Raut, and Congress MLA Ravindra Dhangekar

Pune, 16th March 2024: Following Vasant More’s resignation from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), a series of meetings with prominent political figures has stirred speculation regarding his future political affiliation and potential candidacy in the Pune Lok Sabha elections. Notably, meetings were held with NCP President Sharad Pawar, Thackeray group leader MP Sanjay Raut, and other leaders. However, amidst these deliberations, Vasant More paid a visit to the office of Ravindra Dhangekar, MLA of the Kasba Assembly Constituency from the Congress party.

The rendezvous between Dhangekar and More, both aspiring for the Pune Lok Sabha seat, has ignited discussions within the city’s political circles. Reflecting on their longstanding association, MLA Ravindra Dhangekar highlighted their shared political journey, having served as corporators in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) under MNS Chief Raj Thackeray’s leadership. Dhangekar emphasized the importance of prudence in decision-making for More, advising him to consider his experience and refrain from criticism towards his former party.

Acknowledging Dhangekar’s mentorship during their time as corporators, More expressed gratitude for the opportunities afforded to him. He clarified that their meeting was cordial and no definitive decision had been reached regarding his political future.
