Pune: Maharashtra Department of Registration & Stamps Addresses Manpower Shortage by Hiring Retired Officers Amid Youth Unemployment Concerns

Pune, 10th February 2024: The Maharashtra Department of Registration & Stamps has announced its decision to recruit retired officers on a contractual basis at its headquarters in Pune. This move comes amidst a pressing need to address the manpower shortage within the department while also fulfilling the demand for recruitment. However, instead of opting for new and young hires, the department has opted to appoint retired officers to fill various positions, including those of Joint District Registrar Class One, Joint District Registrar Class Two, and Accounts Officer.

The recruitment drive specifically targets officers under the age of 65 who have recently retired from the Revenue Department of Maharashtra. Applications have been invited, and an advertisement has been published on the department’s website outlining the available positions. Among the vacancies are two each for the posts of Joint District Registrar Class I and II, along with 12 posts for Accounts Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer.

Retired officers who held positions such as Joint-District Registrar Class I, Stamp Collector, or Joint Collector are eligible to apply for the aforementioned posts. Similarly, those who retired from the positions of Joint-District Registrar Class II or Deputy Superintendent of Stamps can apply for Joint-District Registrar Class II positions. Selected officers will be responsible for various tasks, including compliance with the Maharashtra Stamp Act, handling appeal and revision cases, and preparing responses to writ petitions.

Interested candidates have until February 12 at 6:30 PM to submit their applications. Interviews for the positions will be conducted on Wednesday, February 14, starting at 11 am.
