Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Receives Death Threats Amid ‘Jansanman Yatra’
Dhule, 12th August 2024: Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar has received death threats, according to a statement by the Disaster Management Minister of Maharashtra Anil Patil today.
Ajit Pawar, President of the Nationalist Congress Party AP, is currently leading the ‘Jansanman Yatra’ across Maharashtra, focusing on engaging with voters in north Maharashtra ahead of the State Legislative Assembly Elections.
Minister Anil Patil commented, “Ajit Pawar has always been dedicated to serving the people. Threats like these are not new, and they will not deter us. The Yatra will proceed as planned.”
During the NCP public meeting in Dhule today, where Ajit Pawar was scheduled to speak, his security arrangements were heightened in response to the threat.
The State Intelligence Department has advised increased vigilance for Pawar’s tour in Dhule. Maharashtra Police are on high alert and have enhanced security measures.
Minister Patil added, “Ajit Pawar is committed to interacting with and serving the public. Despite the threats, we remain undeterred.”
With Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections anticipated in November, various political leaders are actively campaigning. Both factions of the NCP are actively engaging voters: the Ajit Pawar-led NCP is conducting the Jansanman Yatra, while the Sharad Pawar-led NCP is running the Shivswarajya Yatra.
