Maharashtra: After Molestation Case, Jitendra Awhad Announces His Resignation On Twitter

Thane, 14th November 2022: NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad was arrested a few days ago in connection with the cancellation of the show of the Marathi film ‘Har Har Mahadev’. After that, a case of molestation was registered against Awhad under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Now Awhad has made a big announcement saying that two false cases have been filed in 72 hours. He stated he was deciding to resign as the MLA through a tweet. “I will fight against this police brutality,” he tweeted. Awhad also said that he cannot see the killing of democracy.

“The police filed two false cases against me within 72 hours. One of these offences is under Section 354. I will fight against this police brutality. I have decided to resign from my MLA post. The murder of democracy cannot be seen with naked eyes,” said Awhad in his tweet.

MLA Awhad has opposed the Marathi movie ‘Har Har Mahadev’ released a few days ago. He has alleged that history has been destroyed in this film. Taking this issue, he stopped the shows of this film in Thane. A case was registered against him in this matter. He was also arrested.

Along with this, a case of molestation has also been registered against Awhad. A woman has alleged that Awhad pushed her during the dedication ceremony of a bridge in Kalwa.
