Jantar Mantar Protest Live: Delhi Police Barricade Roads, Protesters Continue Sit-In
New Delhi, 20th July 2026: Delhi Police have erected barricades at the end of the road leading from Jantar Mantar, preventing protesters from moving ahead. Police also stopped a truck carrying protesters, including activist Abhijeet Dipke, from proceeding towards the protest site.
Following repeated appeals from organisers to maintain peace and avoid confrontation, many protesters sat on the road near the barricades instead of attempting to cross them. Others continued waving the Indian flag, chanting slogans and demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister.
Organisers have issued multiple advisories, both at the protest site and on social media, urging participants, many of whom are college students, to remain calm, follow volunteers’ instructions and ensure the demonstration remains peaceful.
