IAS Saurabh Rao Gets Pune Posting For 4th Time

Pune, 5th February 2024: Saurabh Rao, an IAS officer who was previously serving as the Divisional Commissioner of Pune, has been given a new role. Now, he will be the Commissioner for Co-operation and Registrar for Cooperative Societies in Pune. He became well-known for leading rescue efforts during the 2014 landslide in Malin, a village in Ambegaon taluka of Pune district, Maharashtra.

Some of his notable achievements include planning a new International Airport in Purandar, launching the ‘Jalyukta Shivar Yojna’ to ensure water supply in drought-affected areas, and effectively managing challenges during the COVID crisis in 2020.

Now, he’s back in Pune for his fourth assignment, drawing attention once again in bureaucratic circles.
