Eknath Shinde Faction Makes Dent In Aditya Thackeray’s Stronghold, Blow To Thackeray Faction

Mumbai, 2nd October 2022: In Maharashtra, the tussle between Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde faction does not seem to be calming down. On Sunday, about 3,000 Shiv Sainiks of Mumbai Worli joined the Eknath Shinde faction. This is also a big setback for the Uddhav faction because Aaditya Thackeray is an MLA from the Worli area.

Significantly, the Bombay High Court has given a verdict in favour of the Uddhav faction regarding the Dussehra rally. But the Shinde faction is not allowing the Thackeray family to celebrate its happiness.

It is worth mentioning that earlier, the Shinde faction was preparing to join Uddhav’s trusted aide Milind Narvekar with them. Before that, the Shinde faction had associated with Champa Singh Thapa, who was very close to the Thackeray family. Significantly, in June, the Maha Vikas Aghadi government was toppled in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde had revolted along with 39 others. These MLAs had opposed the Shiv Sena alliance with the NCP and the Congress. Later, Uddhav Thackeray resigned, and the BJP formed the government with the rebel MLAs of Shiv Sena. In this government, Eknath Shinde received the post of CM, and Devendra Fadnavis became Deputy CM.

Since then, there has been a fierce confrontation between the two factions of Shiv Sena. On one hand, the Uddhav faction claims itself to be the real Shiv Sena, while on the other hand, the Shinde faction claims that it is the real Shiv Sena. Recently, the fight between the two groups reached the court over the right to celebrate the Dussehra rally. Both factions are claiming to celebrate the Dussehra rally on the party’s foundation day. However, the BMC had refused permission to both the groups citing law and order.
