Delhi excise policy scam: Another minister of the Kejriwal government under ED scanner, Kailash Gehlot summoned for questioning

New Delhi, 30th March 2024: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Delhi’s Transport Minister, Kailash Gehlot, for questioning in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam. Following the recent arrests, including that of Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the ED is intensifying its probe into the alleged money laundering associated with the scam. Gehlot is implicated in drafting Delhi’s new liquor policy, and there are allegations that Vijay Nair, a key figure in the liquor scam, resided at his premises.

Kailash Gehlot, an MLA from Najafgarh, also serves as the Transport and Law Minister in the Delhi government. He is now under scrutiny regarding his involvement in the money laundering aspects of the liquor scam. Despite the summons, there has been no official statement from either the Aam Aadmi Party or the Delhi government.

The investigation into the Delhi excise policy scam has been ongoing for two years, with more than a dozen arrests made so far, including prominent figures like Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, and MP Sanjay Singh. Both the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are delving into allegations of corruption and money laundering surrounding the case.
