Delhi Court Releases CJP Leaders Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das And Ashutosh Ranka With One-Year Peace Condition

New Delhi, 11th October 2026: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke and party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were released from preventive detention on Sunday, October 11, after being produced before an executive magistrate in Delhi. Their release is subject to a condition that they maintain peace for one year.

The three leaders were released following proceedings before the Court of Special Executive Magistrate at Delhi Cantonment Police Station. CJP’s legal affairs head, Ratna Singh, confirmed the development and said the leaders had been directed not to engage in activities that could breach peace during the next year.

Delhi Police had detained Dipke, Das and Ranka on Saturday after their flight from Mumbai landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport. They had travelled to the national capital to participate in the party’s proposed demonstration at Jantar Mantar.

The police action was taken under Sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Section 126 deals with security for keeping the peace, while Section 170 provides for preventive arrest to stop the commission of a cognisable offence in specified circumstances.

The leaders’ release comes a day after police detained protesters and political leaders at several locations in Delhi amid heightened security ahead of the proposed demonstration. Restrictions on movement were imposed in parts of the capital, with police attempting to prevent gatherings around key locations.

Meanwhile, the CJP had indicated that its protest would continue despite the detention of its senior leadership. Ajinkya Shinde was named to lead the party’s protest activities in their absence.

The proposed demonstration was called over demands for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation and the withdrawal of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The latest development follows Saturday’s preventive action against the CJP leaders, with their release now subject to the executive magistrate’s peace condition for one year.
