Mumbai: Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Visits Salman Khan, Assures Enhanced Security
Mumbai, 16th April 2024: Days after shots were fired outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in the Bandra area of Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the Bollywood star at his residence. During the visit, the Chief Minister reassured Khan and his family about their safety and informed them that security measures had been enhanced.
Following the meeting, CM Shinde vowed that the police would take strict action in the case. He stated that he assured Salman Khan of the government’s support and directed the police to take immediate measures in response to the incident. Two suspects have already been apprehended. The CM also instructed the Police Commissioner to provide security for Khan and his family and emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of the citizens.
The Chief Minister expressed determination to eliminate any gangs or goons in the state and emphasized that such bullying would not be tolerated in Maharashtra. He also stated that the accused in this case would face strict consequences.
Present at the meeting were Salman’s father, Salim Khan, as well as former MLA Baba Siddiqui, MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui, and Yuva Sena’s Rahul Kanal.
On Sunday, two individuals fired four shots outside Galaxy Apartments, where Salman Khan resides, at around 5 am and quickly fled the scene.
The police arrested two individuals on Monday night in connection with the incident: Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), both from Bihar. Deputy Inspector General of Kutch-West, Mahendra Bagadiya, confirmed their identities.
The suspects were brought before a magistrate’s court on Tuesday. The Mumbai police crime branch informed the local court that the two suspects had fired shots outside Khan’s house “in an attempt to kill him.”
The police requested 14 days of custody for the suspects for further questioning, aiming to uncover the conspiracy and identify the mastermind behind the attack. The magistrate granted police custody of the two suspects until April 25.
