Delhi Protest: Neha Bora, Yogendra Yadav Detained on Day 2 of Anti-CEC Protest at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi, 3rd October 2026: Delhi Police detained protesters near Jantar Mantar on Saturday as they tried to march against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, marking the second straight day of clampdowns.

Among those picked up were AISA’s Neha Bora, Swaraj India’s Yogendra Yadav, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal and advocate Prashant Bhushan, who had crossed the first barricades before being stopped on Jantar Mantar Road and moved into police buses.

Police said no permission had been granted for the protest, even as slogans rose from inside the vehicles and security around central Delhi was visibly tightened with prohibitory orders, multiple barricade layers and thousands of personnel deployed.

Following Friday’s similar action, three FIRs have been registered against unidentified persons for defying orders, obstructing public servants and using criminal force, signaling that the legal fallout is likely to widen even as the political battle over the CEC intensifies.
