Sharad Pawar and Sanjay Raut Unveil ‘Sangharshayatri’; Narrates Balasaheb Thackeray’s Impact at Book Launch

Chinchwad, 27th February 2024: On Monday (26th February), in Chinchwad, the book “Sangharshayatri,” which delves into the life biography of the late Gajanan Babar, the inaugural Member of Parliament for Maval Lok Sabha, was unveiled by Sharad Pawar and MP Sanjay Raut. During the event, Sharad Pawar delivered a speech. The gathering included MP Srinivas Patil, Dr. Amol Kolhe, and Sanjog Waghere, the Maval organizer for the Thackeray group.

Yashwantrao Chavan and Balasaheb Thackeray emerged as two leaders who actively promoted constructive endeavours, lifting individuals from ordinary backgrounds. Balasaheb Thackeray, a personal friend of mine, played a pivotal role in endorsing such initiatives. The election of Supriya Sule to the Rajya Sabha without opposition was a significant milestone, and NCP Sharadchandra Pawar Party President Sharad Pawar underscored the crucial role played by Balasaheb Thackeray in this matter.

Sharad Pawar revealed that upon learning of our party’s decision to nominate Supriya to the Rajya Sabha, Balasaheb Thackeray reached out. Expressing joy that Pawar’s daughter was set to enter Parliament for the first time, Thackeray generously proposed not fielding any opposing candidate, displaying a rare magnanimity. Such a large-hearted gesture was a distinctive characteristic of Thackeray.

Sharad Pawar added, “I had heard that former MLA Vilas Lande owns a factory, employing 3000 people. Upon learning this, a weight lifted off my shoulders, especially with elections on the horizon. Dr. Amol Kolhe is dedicated but lacks financial support. It was crucial to back his election, and there’s no better supporter than Lande, given his unmatched influence. Annasaheb Magar deserves commendation for the commendable work in unifying Pimpri-Chinchwad city.”

“Yashwantrao Chavan played a pivotal role in industrial development, envisioning the industrialization of Pimpri-Chinchwad. Yashwantrao believed in the necessity of industrial growth alongside agriculture. He attracted significant factories, including a telco factory at the behest of JRD Tata, transforming the city with numerous small and large industries. However, concentrating manufacturing in one area poses various challenges” said Sharad Pawar

Pawar explained, “I strategically established factories in Chakan, Ranjangaon, Talegaon, Hinjawadi, and Indapur, adopting a decentralized approach. This decentralization of factories resulted in the creation of numerous jobs, attracting people from various parts of the country, including Maharashtra, to the district for employment opportunities. This approach significantly contributed to the city’s development.

Furthermore, Sharad Pawar acknowledged the achievements of the late Gajanan Babar, who rose from being a corporator to serving as an MLA and MP, achieving the latter position twice. Pawar noted that despite the success, the third attempt was thwarted, partly due to his involvement. Admitting that it might not be deemed fair, Pawar clarified that they reconsidered their strategy after their candidate faced defeat twice, leading to Babar losing the chance for a ‘hat trick’ in the assembly.”
